Microsoft treats the building in 2014 to attend a gift card of $ 500 Xbox Microsoft Store

At its Build 2014 conference today, Microsoft announced that developers will be receiving an Xbox One
and a $500 Microsoft Store gift card. Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s EVP of Operating Systems Group, announced both to huge applause from developers.

Choosing the Xbox One over the Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 fits into the company’s story of convincing developers to target multiple platforms with its apps. We’ll be seeing a big push from the company this year focusing on that vein.

Microsoft traditionally gives away something at its conferences, and two items shouldn’t be a shocker. At last year’s conference, Microsoft gave attendees an Acer Iconia W3 Windows 8 tablet and a Surface Pro.
